Carlo Ancelotti is confident his reigning European champions will overturn a first-leg defeat in Turin to reach the Champions League Final.

Carlos Tevez sealed victory for Juventus from the spot after Cristiano Ronaldo cancelled out Alvaro Morata’s opener with his 76th goal in the competition. But Ancelotti believes Real will recover to reach their second consecutive final.

He told realmadrid.com: “This result does not fill us with joy but we are confident about turning things around in the Bernabeu. We looked good when we passed the ball around and carved out chances.

“We could have played better. We tried to play with quality. We wanted to control the match but were unlucky with the counter-attack that made it 2-1. We played an attacking game but it became difficult to find space.

“Juve are in great form, are a very well-organised team at the back and it is difficult to find a way of breaking them down — it requires patience.”

Real defender Sergio Ramos, who played in midfield last night, added: “We’re one step from the final and we’re going to give it our all at the Bernabeu.”

Ronaldo made history in the 27th minute as he converted James Rodriguez’s cross to move one goal ahead of Lionel Messi in the scoring charts.

The Portuguese has 76 goals in 114 games — 62 as a Real player and 52 with Manchester United — and has scored nine times in this season’s competition to match Shakhtar Donetsk’s Luiz Adriano as the tournament’s top scorer.
