Juventus midfielder Mario Lemina 'flattered' by Arsenal and Watford interest

George Elek7 June 2017

Juventus midfielder Mario Lemina has admitted that he is ‘flattered’ by the interest of Premier League clubs Arsenal and Watford.

The Gabon international signed for Juventus from Marseille in 2015 and has a contract in Turin until 2020. He has found his first team opportunities somewhat limited at the Old Lady though, and there is speculation that a move away from Italy beckons this summer.

Indeed, Standard Sport reported in May that Arsenal have identified Lemina as one of their preferred midfield targets ahead of the new season.

English clubs are not the only ones said to be admirers of Lemina, however, with Valencia and Lyon also linked with a move for the 23-year old.

And speaking to French news outlet Foot Mercato, Lemina admitted being linked with a move to England was flattering, but revealed he does not have a preference as to where he moves in the coming months.

He said: "I am flattered by the interest of Arsenal and Watford. I am playing for a big club now but I am happy about the interest of other clubs.

"I do not have a preference for any league. My future depends on who really wants me."

He did, however, seemingly rule out a move to Lyon due to his allegiances to Marseille.

He added: "I don’t think I’ll be moving to Lyon. I am from Marseille and I am not interested in joining them. I don’t think I have a chance to return to Marseille."
