Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma believes the bust-up between Diego Costa and Oscar merely reflects how determined the players are to turn the club's season around.

The build-up to Chelsea's FA Cup third round tie against Scunthorpe United, which they won 2-0 yesterday, was overshadowed by a clash between Oscar and Costa in training last week.

Both players had to be separated after a late challenge on Costa from Oscar, but Zouma feels it should be seen as a positive, not a negative.

He said: "For us training is like a game. We have to give everything. The way you train is the way you play. So first of all, we have to improve in training. Is that why you get tackles like that? Of course.

"In training we are working hard every day. Everybody is putting good intensity into their game. We have played well in a few games and are improving much better, so let's keep the intensity very high.

"If you watched the (Scunthorpe) game you can see how they (Oscar and Costa) are both together. Just like everybody, they are very good friends."

Gary Cahill added: "For me it's absolutely nothing. They are best friends in the club.

"I've seen it a million times in training."

Costa took his goal tally to four in three matches by opening the scoring against Scunthorpe, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek adding the second.

However, Costa is a doubt to face West Brom on Wednesday night after limping off late on at Stamford Bridge.
