League One leaders Brentford plan to profit from January loans as they are linked with Arsenal striker

Standard Sport2 January 2014

Brentford will use the loan market to help their promotion bid after moving three points clear at the top of League One.

Brentford, who beat Peterborough 3-1 yesterday, have been linked with Arsenal forward Chuba Akpom and manager Mark Warburton (above) expects a number of deals to go through next week.

“We have two or three lined up, maybe four,” said Warburton, who has guided Brentford to five wins from five since taking over from Uwe Rosler.

“It is still early days but, hopefully, we will make some announcements. Any players who come in will have to add value on and off the pitch. There is a good harmony among the players.”
