A minute's silence has been held at the Vitality Stadium ahead of Bournemouth's Premier League meeting with Manchester United to honour those who died in the Leicester helicopter disaster.

Five people, including Leicester's chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, were killed when the helicopter crashed shortly after take-off just outside the King Power stadium after Leicester's 1-1 draw with West Ham last Saturday.

Similar tributes are to be held at football grounds around the country over the course of this weekend in the first full set of league fixtures since the deaths were confirmed, though Tottenham played Manchester City on Monday night and there were several EFL Cup ties in midweek.

Leicester postponed their tie against Southampton on Tuesday night, but travel to Cardiff this afternoon for their first game since the incident, with the squad having unanimously agreed to play.

Earlier this week, Cardiff boss Neil Warnock promised a fitting tribute.

“I can promise the Cardiff fans will be amazing,” he told Standard Sport.

“I’m sure there will be a lot of tears. Our supporters have been absolutely fantastic this season and will make sure it is a suitable occasion, but it will be a difficult afternoon.”
