Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has refused to rule Roberto Firmino out of Tuesday's Champions League meeting with Paris Saint Germain despite the forward suffering an eye injury against Tottenham.

Firmino was hurt in a clash with Jan Vertonghen during the 2-1 victory at Wembley on Saturday but initial assessments have shown he will suffer no lasting damage.

Indeed, the Brazil international, who was pulled off after 74 minutes, could even feature in Liverpool's European opener at Anfield on Tuesday.

“No idea, to be honest. He is much better," Klopp told Liverpool's official website when asked if Firmino would be fit to return.

“We all see the picture and we were massively worried. But all these worries are away so he will be fine. If he will be fine for tomorrow, I don’t know in the moment.

“We are obviously in close contact with him and it improved already – but in this moment I can’t say if he will be available for tomorrow.”
