Fabinho and Adam Lallana are doubts for Liverpool’s meeting with Huddersfield Town on Friday, Jurgen Klopp has revealed.

The Reds should, however, be able to welcome Dejan Lovren back into the squad following his recent absence.

Fabinho lasted just four minutes after being introduced as a substitute during the latter stages of last weekend’s 2-0 victory over Cardiff, sustaining a head injury in his first challenge.

Lallana, meanwhile, has been sidelined since the last international break due to what was described as a ‘minor’ muscle injury.

But, while that midfield duo may not be back to face the Terriers, there is better news on Lovren, who appears to have overcome illness.

Klopp said: “They are all a bit questionable. We don’t know exactly at the moment, we will have to see today so we gave them all a proper rest.

“Dejan trained yesterday, that’s okay probably, and the other two we will see.”

Predicted Liverpool XI

Alisson, Gomez, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Keita, Salah, Mane, Firmino

With a Champions League trip to Barcelona on the horizon, Klopp was expected to consider making changes for the visit of Jan Siewert’s team.

However, the German insists that won’t be the case - not least because it would send out the wrong message to his players.

He added: “This would probably be the last game that I overthink anything because it’s always the same.

“The question you ask, the situation they are in, the things people think about the game is already enough bad preparation.

“I will not push that wrong mindset with a strange line-up or whatever, no chance for that.

“We had enough time to recover after the last game, we have enough time to recover for the next game. Barcelona has nothing to do with the game on Friday night.
