Arsenal supporters in Bulgaria commemorated the 20th anniversary of Arsene Wenger’s reign at the club in style at Sofia’s Vasil Levski national stadium.

Members of the Arsenal Supporters Club Bulgaria raised a custom-made flag on 20 minutes in the away end during their Champions League clash with Ludogorets Razgrad and were offered a generous round of applause by home supporters.

Wenger’s 20th anniversary at the club fell on October 1 but, with Arsenal having never played in Bulgaria before, local fans were hardly likely to let a few week’s distance stop them from commemorating the reign of one of the club’s greatest ever managers.

Though nominally the home side, Ludogorets are playing their matches over 200 miles away from their home city of Razgrad in the capital Sofia and many local Arsenal supporters have snapped up tickets for the clash.

The two side’s previous meeting also saw Wenger celebrate another landmark; the 6-0 win in London was his 100th victory in European competitions as Arsenal manager.
