Bernardo Silva transfer exit ruled out by Pep Guardiola after Barcelona and PSG rumours

Pep Guardiola is adamant that Bernardo Silva will stay at Manchester City despite reports of interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona.

The Portuguese playmaker has long been linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium but his manager is intent on keeping him, amid claims he is unsettled in Manchester.

“He will stay here,” Guardiola told reporters on Friday.

“Absolutely. We haven’t had any phone call from any club regarding Bernardo Silva, so he is staying.”

City will attempt to end a poor run of results against Crystal Palace when welcoming the Eagles to Eastlands on Saturday, having suffered each of their last two home defeats to Patrick Vieira’s side.

“It’s a good record, to lose two out of 54 games,” he noted on City’s overall run amid their record against Palace.

“That shows how good they are. With [Roy] Hodgson and now Patrick Vieira. They have resilience and an incredible amount of quality.

“They defend the 18-yard box really well, good set pieces, good transitions. They have weapons, experienced players in the middle.”
