Sergio Aguero is facing a fight to play any part in the Champions League finals after Pep Guardiola revealed the striker is still to travel to Portugal.
The Argentina international is recovering from knee surgery in Barcelona after suffering the injury in June.
Guardiola hopes to have him back if Manchester City beat Lyon on Saturday and progress to the semi-finals.
But he will still have little time to get back up to match fitness.
Guardiola said: “He’s still in Barcelona. I think he should come here and do a test. It’s only been a few days.
“He’s still in Barcelona making progress to recovery.”
The competition has dramatically opened up since City knocked out Real Madrid in the round of 16 and Lyon stunned Juventus.
RB Leipzig then sent Atletico Madrid crashing out of the quarter-finals on Thursday, while one of Barcelona or Bayern Munich will be eliminated when the two giants meet on Friday.
But Guardiola has dismissed suggestions City are favourites to finally conquer Europe.
“Of course it was so important to beat the king (Real),” he said. “But when we play just one game everything can happen. In this competition there are no favourites.

“It is quite different. Usually when you play the first leg you always have an eye on the second leg.
“We know in this country in the FA Cup or Carabao Cup we are used to one game, always a final. The players play in that a lot.
"There is no second chance. You are out and go back to Manchester or you stay in. The approach is completely different.”
