Manchester City XI vs Bayern Munich: Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest today

Phil Foden is back in Manchester City’s squad for tonight’s Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.

Pep Guardiola had the midfielder return to training earlier this week after an operation to remove his appendix three weeks earlier, but is confident he will not need long to get up to speed.

A 3-0 win at the Etihad Stadium has made City 1/100 favourites to qualify for the last four in Bavaria.

The visitors line up in the 3-2-4-1 system that has worked wonders for Guardiola in recent weeks.

John Stones continues in midfield alongside Rodri with Manuel Akanji and Nathan Ake returning to the defence after being benched on the weekend.

Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne once again start in the centre of the park, with Bernardo Silva getting the nod over Riyad Mahrez on the right flank.

Erling Haaland starts up front and Jack Grealish plays down the left wing, with Foden and Mahrez among those named on the bench.

Starting XI: Ederson, Stones, Akanji, Dias, Ake, Rodri, Gundogan, De Bruyne, Bernardo, Grealish, Haaland.

Subs: Ortega, Carson, Walker, Phillips, Laporte, Alvarez, Gomez, Mahrez, Perrone, Foden, Palmer, Lewis
