Man United boss Jose Mourinho wants Nemanja Matic-Matteo Darmian swap with Chelsea as Arsenal target Daley Blind - Sunday's transfer gossip

It appears Jose Mourinho left something behind at Stamford Bridge when he was told to pack his things in December. And he wants it back.

According to reports in the Sunday People today the new Manchester United manager is already missing Nemanja Matic, and is willing to give Chelsea their choice of players to allow the pair to be reunited at Old Trafford. So long as the Blues choice of players starts and ends with Matteo Darmian.

The Italian full-back might not be the only Louis van Gaal signing to be dispensed with, could Arsenal be about to profit from Mourinho’s scepticism over Daley Blind’s abilities as a centre-back?

After the glorious success that was Mikael Silvestre’s move to the Emirates Gunners supporters will doubtless be intrigued by the prospect of signing up another ball-playing, left-footed centre-back with a point to prove.

Elsewhere Troy Deeney continues to be the man for Leicester, who still await a decision on Jamie Vardy’s future. They reckon the Watford captain is worth £25m – his current club aren’t interested in doing business.

And Enner Valencia could be on his way out of West Ham, with Swansea reportedly keen on a deal for the Ecuadorean.
