Man United transfer news and rumours: £80m Antony offer, Gakpo progress, shock Saint-Maximin move

Manchester United’s win over Liverpool might have raised morale, though few would doubt there is still work to be done.

The club’s recruitment staff have yet again come under fire after a slow summer window even despite the arrival of four players, the headline of whom is one Casemiro, a five-time Champions League winner.

Still, even Ralf Rangnick highlighted the need to bring in two “modern strikers” back in May and there has been little movement on that front since.

With that in mind, it’s expected to be a busy final few days of the window at Old Trafford as ten Hag desperately pushes to add to his squad.

Here’s a look at the latest transfer news.

United identified Ajax star Antony as a target earlier this summer, with the Brazilian international having worked alongside ten Hag in the Dutch capital.

While the club are understood to have already seen a bid rejected, the player himself is believed to be keen on a move and missed Ajax’s League game with Sparta Rotterdam in order to force it through.

According to the Daily Mail, a fresh bid of around £80m is on the way.

The PSV star is another touted as a target for the club, with manager Ruud van Nistelrooy revealing he was “relaxed” about the situation.

Still, following the outcome of Wednesday’s Champions League play-off with Rangers, PSV are likely to reveal their stance.

According to the Sun, United feel they are making good progress on the deal.
