Former Liverpool players Stewart Downing and Andy Carroll have been named in West Ham's starting line up to face Manchester City in this afternoon's title-decider at the Etihad stadium.
The English pair who left Anfield last summer to join the Hammers will be carrying the hopes of their former teammates on their shoulders if the Premier League title is to be won by Brendan Rodgers' Liverpool.
Carroll, who hopes to be named in Roy Hodgson's 23 man England squad for the 2014 World Cup, announced tomorrow, said this week that he would be pleased to help his former teammates on Merseyside.
However, Manchester City named a strong starting line-up including Argentine striker Sergio Aguero whose injury time goal on the last day of the season two years ago sealed the club's first Premier League title.
Manuel Pellegrini's men just need one point this afternoon to clinch the title.
