No chance: Vincent Kompany

Vincent Kompany would not join Arsenal even if he was given £60m and two Ferraris, insisting he plays for “glory”.

Kompany, who started his career at Anderlecht, was responding on Twitter to his former club’s remarkable three-goal comeback against Arsenal on Tuesday night.

After Aleksandar Mitrovic scored the last-minute equaliser for the Belgian club, Kompany tweeted: “OMG Anderlecht!!”

This caught the attention of celebrity Arsenal fan Piers Morgan, who asked: “If I pay you £50m will you and play for us?”

The Manchester City defender refused, and after receiving a new offer from Morgan - £60m and two Ferraris – Kompany responded: “Those days have gone Pearsie, I play for glory.”

Morgan is yet to reply and is seemingly unwilling to improve upon his offer.

Arsenal now face a struggle to finish top of their Champions League group, five points behind leaders Borussia Dortmund with only two games left to play.
