Manchester United fans were offered a first glimpse of the hotly-anticipated midfield partnership between Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes on Friday.

Kept apart in recent friendlies at Old Trafford and Carrington, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer opted to field the pair on the same team in their latest 'pre-season' warm-up match against West Brom.

United actually played two against against the Baggies, winning the first practice encounter 2-1, before Andreas Pereira's brace and a further effort from young winger Tahith Chong sealed a 3-1 win in the second contest.

United fans have been waiting to see Pogba and Fernandes in a midfield tandem since Fernandes arrived at Old Trafford in January. Back at the start of the year Pogba was struggling with an ankle injury and his since recovered in time to play his part in United's scrap for a Champions League spot.

And Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris sounded a warning about his France colleague ahead of Friday's meeting between United and Spurs in north London. Asked about Tottenham's first match back, Lloris said: "I know Paul and as soon as he gets on the field he wants to win.

"He will do everything possible to be at his best to help Manchester United make the top four."
