Manchester United are yet to agree a deal for Feyenoord and Netherlands centre-back Stefan de Vrij.

The 22-year-old has impressed during the World Cup finals in Brazil, scoring against holders Spain, and national manager Louis van Gaal is keen to bring the star to Old Trafford next season.

Lazio also maintain a strong interest in De Vrij, but speculation surrounding a move to Italy cooled when it was thought he was closing in on a switch to the Premier League with United.

But the player's agent has dismissed suggestions any deal is close.

"We have no agreement with Manchester United, nor have we signed for them,” his agent said.
