BT Sport presenter Lynsey Hipgrave has apologised after mistakenly declaring Manchester United will face Chelsea in April's FA Cup semi-finals.

Hipgrave was hosting coverage of Sunday's draw following Chelsea's 2-1 victory over Leicester at the King Power Stadium.

Petr Cech and Gianfranco Zola conducted the draw after Antonio Conte's men had booked their place in the semi-finals alongside Tottenham, Manchester United and Southampton.

The Blues were drawn against Saints, while Manchester United were handed another trip to Wembley to face Tottenham after January's 2-0 League defeat to the same opponents at the national stadium.

Hipgrave wrapped up the coverage, saying: "So, confirmation that it is Chelsea against Manchester United and Southampton against Tottenham."

Social media users were quick to pounce on the presenter's mistake, but fellow broadcaster Gabby Logan weighed in with her support.

Logan posted on Twitter: "My old boss at ITV used to say the viewers love a little mistake every now and again it makes you human. You rarely put a foot wrong. Don’t lose a moment’s sleep."

Hipgrave later tweeted: "That's live tv, not my first mistake and certainly won't be my last. Really sorry. Just checking you were all listening."

FA Cup semi-final ties will be played on the weekend commencing Saturday, April 21.
