Manchester United want to sign just one more star

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson today revealed he is only looking to add one more player to his squad as he bids to reclaim the Premier League title.

United missed out on a 20th League crown on goal difference to Manchester City and Ferguson (above) has already strengthened his squad for next season.

England Under-18 star Nick Powell and Japan’s Shinji Kagawa have already moved to Old Trafford and Ferguson admitted today he is looking to bring another new face in.

“There will possibly be one more,” he said. “We have always done well in terms of getting players in at the end of the season. That is the right time.

“But there is always a delay in a Euro or World Cup year. That is over and we are still trying to get one more.”

Ferguson also confirmed that midfielder Darren Fletcher would miss the start of the season. The Scotland captain has been out since December with a chronic bowel complaint. He said: “He’s not started training with us. We are happy to be patient but he won’t start the season.”
