Manchester City will meet Rotherham in the third-round of the FA Cup.

Pep Guardiola's side welcome the Championship side to the Etihad on the weekend beginning Saturday 5 January.

City suffered an early exit from the competition last season after defeat to Wigan Athletic in the fifth round.

Will Grigg’s strike saw the Latics seal a 1-0 victory – a repeat of their 2013 FA Cup final triumph – after City had been reduced to 10 men with Fabian Delph sent off.

City consoled themselves with League Cup and Premier League triumphs that season.

But the FA Cup remains the only piece of domestic silverware Guardiola has not won since arriving in the blue half of Manchester in 2016.

The club have won English football’s oldest competition five times with their last success coming back in the 2010/11 season with Yaya Toure scoring the winning goal against Premier League rivals Stoke City.
