Marseille have not given up hope of agreeing a deal to sign Moussa Sissoko from Tottenham.

Spurs are willing to allow the midfielder, who was bought from Newcastle for a possible £30million last August, to leave after a disappointing season.

Sissoko is also keen to move as he is likely to have little playing time under Mauricio Pochettino during the coming campaign, and needs regular football to secure his place in France’s World Cup squad.

Marseille have already done business with Spurs this summer, completing a £6m move for Clinton Njie, who had been on loan with the Ligue 1 club.

Marseille hope they can come to an arrangement with Spurs before the transfer window closes next month, though it is thought they would prefer an initial loan deal.

Sissoko has struggled to impress in north London since his move from the Magpies, but is still trusted by France coach Didier Deschamps as France attempt to qualify for next year's World Cup in Russia.
