Arsenal loanee Martin Odegaard was able to join his Norway team-mates on the training pitch on Friday following his injury scare in midweek.

The midfielder, who has impressed in the Premier League since joining from Real Madrid in January, has forced off at half-time on Wednesday night with an ankle injury.

Odegaard, who was captaining his country for the first time, had to be replaced by Patrick Berg as Norway went on to win 3-0 over Gibraltar.

Norway head coach Stale Solbakken after the game moved to allay fears over a lay-off, telling reporters: "It is not a serious injury. I have big hopes that Martin will be fit for the game against Turkey on Saturday.”

Odegaard echoed his manager's comments: "I twisted my ankle, but I think I will be fit for the game against Turkey Saturday."

The 22-year-old was back on the training pitch on Friday with his team-mates, ending speculation over his fitness.

Norway face Turkey on Saturday before Montenegro on Tuesday.
