Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino said Harry Kane should take his team-mates out for dinner to thank them for their part in his incredible 30-goal tally.

The England international scored his 20th Premier League goal of the season as Spurs kept alive their faint hopes of Champions League football next season with a 3-1 victory at Newcastle.

More notably, Kane has now reached 30 goals across all competitions and becomes the first Spurs player since Gary Lineker in 1992 to reach that tally in one campaign.

Pochettino joked the England man should lay on dinner for the Spurs squad, who have provided him with so many goalscoring opportunities across the year.

Asked about Kane's achievement he said: "It’s fantastic, congratulations to him because he deserves this moment, it’s historic, the first time since Gary Lineker in 1992.

“I think he needs to pay for a dinner this week for his team-mates. The team work a lot and try and help the striker score.”
