Mauricio Pochettino has urged his players to use Tottenham's poor record at Stamford Bridge as motivation ahead of Saturday's clash with Chelsea.

Spurs have not won in 29 visits to the Blues in all competitions and are set to go into this weekend's clash as underdogs.

The north Londoners are unbeaten in the Premier League this term but Chelsea have won six consecutive top-flight games to climb to the top of the table.

Last season's corresponding fixture produced a feisty 2-2 draw as Tottenham saw their title hopes extinguished thanks to Eden Hazard's late equaliser and Pochettino is keen to put the hoodoo to bed.

"It must be motivation for us. It's a very good challenge," Pochettino insisted when asked about Tottenham's historical record in west London.

"It's a big motivation for me - personally - and it must be for the players too."

However, the Argentine coach has acknowledged the size of the task facing his team this weekend.

Chelsea have not conceded a goal since switching to a 3-4-3 formation and Pochettino is adamant Antonio Conte's men are currently among the best teams on the continent.

"It's a good challenge for us. They have a great manager that I know very well.

"They are not only in England but in Europe one of the most in-form teams," he added.
