Mesut Ozil believes a fully-fit Arsenal can win the Premier League this season.
Arsene Wenger’s side set a marker for the title race with an emphatic 3-0 win over Manchester United on Sunday, closing the gap on Manchester City to two points.
Both Theo Walcott and Francis Coquelin have claimed that the result sent a message to the rest of the league, and Ozil is confident his team are on course for a first title since 2004.
He told Bild: “We have a great team with many world-class players.
“Our goal is to win the Premier League and I think that this season it’s possible to do it, if we all stay healthy. But the season is long.”
Whilst Arsenal have found their best form in the league they are facing a monumental challenge to make it out of their Champions League group. They currently languish at the bottom of Group F with two games to come amongst leaders Bayern Munich.

However Ozil is confident that Arsenal can surprise the most in-form side in Europe.
“I didn’t expect them to beat Dortmund 5-1. Their recent results show they are simply in great shape … But our victory against Manchester United was a sign: when we play and want it 100%, then we can beat Bayern.
“We are playing at home. Although we have respect for them, we don’t have any fear. We know how to score goals against Bayern and we can be successful. It will be difficult – but we have the potential to beat any team.”
