Mesut Ozil has urged his Arsenal teammates to replicate the performance which saw them beat Bayern Munich in the Champions League group stages against Barcelona tonight.

Luis Enrique's side have been installed as clear favourites ahead of their trip to the Emirates Stadium and Arsenal face a difficult task if they are to secure a place in the quarter finals of the competition for the first time since 2010.

Barcelona are unbeaten in 32 games in all competition due to the stellar form of Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Neymar, which has led many to doubt the Gunners' chances of progression.

But Ozil believes victory is not beyond Arsenal and the Germany midfielder is adamant last October's 2-0 win over Bayern Munich should serve as inspiration for what they can achieve.

"We already showed that against Bayern Munich - now we have to repeat such a performance on the pitch with your support from the stands," Ozil wrote on his official Instagram page.

Arsenal's win against the Bundesliga champions four months ago arrived in testing circumstances as the north Londoners needed a positive result to resurrect their European campaign, having lost their opening two fixtures.

Olivier Giroud headed home the opener after a rare Manuel Neuer error before Ozil sealed victory in injury time.
