Mesut Ozil has missed Arsenal’s trip to West Brom with a tight hamstring but is expected to be available for international duty with Germany.

The German playmaker was a surprise absentee from the travelling squad but pulled up in the final training session before the journey to the Midlands.

But Standard Sport understands it is a minor injury and is unlikely to preclude him featuring in Arsenal’s next game, the visit of Manchester City to the Emirates on April 2.

Ozil is joined among the absentees by Lucas Perez, who picked up a thigh injury in training, and Kieran Gibbs, who suffered a knock.

However Arsenal are boosted by the return of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Mohamed Elneny, who passed late fitness tests to make the matchday squad.

Alexis Sanchez, Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott will make up Arsene Wenger’s attacking trident for the match, starting in attack together for the first time this season.
