Mesut Ozil has played with some of the greatest players in the world in his time as a Real Madrid, Arsenal and Germany playmaker.

But few would match up with Cristiano Ronaldo, the three-time Ballon d’Or winner, and Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal’s player of the year and top scorer last season.

Speaking at Arsenal’s members day, where fans were given the chance to quiz star players including Ozil and Kieran Gibbs, the club’s record signing was asked to compare the two greats. The number 11 refused to pick sides, however he did lavish praise on both Ronaldo and Sanchez.

“They are two different players,” Ozil said in a video posted by Youtube user Genty23. “Ronaldo is a player who scores a lot of goals and Alexis is a player that plays for the team.

“You see that in the game, he runs a lot for the team, fights for the team. I just enjoy playing with these players, they are both great players for me.

“Now I play for Arsenal Alexis is a good guy, a good player, and I think all the team are enjoying having him with us.”
