Wise up: Players from both sides surround the referee during Palace's defeat to Chelsea

Mile Jedinak says Crystal Palace have to get used to players surrounding referees in the Premier League.

Neil Warnock believes referee Craig Pawson was “influenced” by Chelsea players during Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Selhurst Park. Chelsea players surrounded the official as he sent off Damien Delaney three minutes after Cesar Azpilicueta was dismissed.

Jedinak said: “You have to accept that players crowding around the referee can happen, particularly at this level where players do have a big influence on games.

“They can influence the referee sometimes. That is part and parcel of playing at this level and we knew that going into the game. Our one was a little bit unfortunate. It was giving the referee a chance to even it up and it was not ideal.

“Damien did not think he did too much wrong. There was not a lot in it. These players have a knack of going down.”

Meanwhile, West Brom hope goalkeeper Ben Foster will be fit to face Palace on Saturday.
