Millwall defender Mahlon Romeo hails improvements after unbeaten start to new Championship season

Mahlon Romeo has admitted the camaraderie within Millwall’s squad has improved from last season after a summer of change at The Den.

The Lions are unbeaten after three games going into Wednesday night's match at Fulham and defender Romeo has noticed the difference in team spirit.

“In training, there’s definitely a different feel around the club to last season. The camaraderie and standard of training has improved,” he said.

“It’s about the togetherness. We play in one of the best leagues on the planet, and if you look at the wages at a lot of clubs and the money involved, I would still say we are underdogs.

“But it’s never been something to affect us, in fact we thrive off it.”

Millwall began the new season with a hard-fought win over Preston and claimed a draw at West Brom - also beating the Baggies away in the first round of the Carabao Cup - before also toppling high-flying Sheffield Wednesday.
