Millwall fan ban welcomed

Millwall's swift action in banning four supporters from The Den permanently for mocking the deaths of two Leeds fans who were murdered in Istanbul 11 years ago has been praised by the Yorkshire club.

Saturday's match between the sides in London was marred by the actions of some home fans who taunted the travelling support by waving Turkish flags and shirts.

Millwall labelled those actions as "totally unacceptable" and Leeds assistant boss Glynn Snodin said today: "It is a positive move [to ban the fans]. No matter what the club is, Millwall or whoever, you just don't want to see that. They kicked racism out of football, so why not this?"
