Millwall look for improvement ahead of big matches

Challenge: Kenny Jackett expects to learn a lot about his side in the next two games
11 April 2012

Millwall manager Kenny Jackett expects to learn a lot about his side in the forthcoming double-header against npower Championship pacesetters QPR and Cardiff.

The Lions had made a decent start to life back in the second tier but their 22-match unbeaten home record was ended in emphatic fashion with a 6-1 defeat by Watford last weekend.

That was followed by a Carling Cup third-round loss to Ipswich, and Jackett knows Millwall have their work cut out if they are to avoid making it three defeats in a row tomorrow lunchtime.

The Lions travel to the Welsh capital to take on Cardiff, who have wobbled after a flying start, before heading to London for a meeting with unbeaten table-toppers Rangers on Tuesday.

Jackett said: "The players will be up for it in terms of direction, energy and spirit. We also have to know what wins and loses games and what we have to add.

"There are two massive games coming up and sometimes that is the best opportunity because you can pull out a result nobody expects.

"Perhaps we need a break or a decision to go our way to perhaps help us through this. We need to identify what to do better and keep up the tempo in our play."
