Portuguese attacker Nani is keen on returning to Manchester United.

The 28 year-old who was loaned out to Sporting Lisbon last summer says he believes he can still be a success at Old Trafford.

Speaking after he played in Portugal's 1-0 win against Argentina, Nani commented on the loan move: 'It's great. I'm doing well.

'I'm trying to do my best. Things are going well and I hope it continues like that.'

When asked if he would contemplate a return to United, he responded: 'Why not? I went out to play more and get to my best, and it is an opportunity. We will see.'

Nani has impressed in Portugal, scoring five goals in 13 games.

It comes after former Sporting Lisbon director Paulo De Alvandro claimed that Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal would be regretting the decision to send him on loan. "It is inevitable that Manchester United will want the player back at the end of the season," he told A Bola. "Van Gaal will be sorry to not have gambled on him sooner."
