Chelsea have released their new Adidas home kit for the 2016/17 season with a video on the club's official Facebook page.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Eden Hazard, fresh from his goalscoring exploits against Spurs, modelled the strip for the first time.

Chelsea signed a 10-year kit deal with Adidas in 2013 and a statement from the sportswear manufacturers has detailed the changes made to their latest effort.

"The new kit presents the proud traditions of the club's heritage as well as a determined mission to strive to be the best.

"With a focus on simple elegance and tradition the new home shirt remains in a classic blue with white detailing featuring a new side Adidas three stripe execution and classic V-neck collar.

"The lead design feature takes its inspiration from the heart of the club crest with lions adorning the sleeves and jersey front."

When asked what he liked about the kit, Hazard offered a succinct response: "The colour. Blue is the colour! I hope we can win plenty of games in this shirt."

Loftus-Cheek, meanwhile, is also determined to help the club to achieve success in the new garment: "We'll look to come back in pre-season and train hard and go again. Hopefully we can win a lot of games in this shirt."

Chelsea will wear the kit for the first time during their final Premier League game of the season against Leicester on Sunday May 15.
