Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is settling in to life on Merseyside and is due to oversee his first new arrival since taking the reins at Anfield later this week.
But, with the transfer window not due to open for another three months, it is not a potential member of the Reds' first-team fold but the 48-year-old's pet dog.
The German coach's pooch, Emma, is set to be flown into the city later this week as he continues his house search away from the city centre location that he has made his temporary base.
The five-year-old retriever cross is named after former Borussia Dortmund striker Lothar Emmerich and could be better suited to Formby, an area where Klopp was spotted looking at properties earlier in the week, rather than the busy Hope Street Hotel.
Reds fan John Patteden bumped into Klopp and his wife Ulla during a stroll and gave the new Liverpool boss tips on the dog-friendly area.
“He was telling us they were house hunting and asked what the area was like - I said it’s great, especially if you have a dog.
“He told me they have a dog and had heard about how beautiful the beach is here.
“It seems like he’s settling in perfectly - mixing with the locals. They chatted to us for quite some time. They were in no rush and seemed genuinely interested," he told the Liverpool ECHO.

Klopp will take charge of his first Liverpool game on Saturday afternoon when his team travel to White Hart Lane to face Mauricio Pochettino's Tottenham.
