Newcastle and Manchester United played out on of the most thrilling Premier League games of recent years as they drew 3-3 at St James’ Park.

Wayne Rooney rediscovered some of his best form as Louis van Gaal’s men finally played without the handbrake.

Going forward it paid off in style, but twice they blew advantages as the excellent Georginio Wijnaldum dragged his side back into the game.

A late strike by Rooney seemed to have secured a stylish three points for the visitors, but Paul Dummett was to play the decisive role as he hammered in a late equaliser that was nothing less than Newcastle deserved.
