The 2016/17 Premier League season has begun to take shape with the usual contenders all scrambling for the top four, and plenty of competition among the division's top stars to make their mark.
While Alexis Sanchez and Heung-min Son have been in fine form for north London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham respectively, both forwards have missed out on a team of the season so far based on statistics provided by daily fantasy football game Oulala.
Sanchez's Gunners team-mate Laurent Koscielny makes the grade after some dominant defensive displays for Arsene Wenger's side, while Spurs are represented by dependable goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
But perhaps the most impressive inclusion is Chelsea striker Diego Costa, who has shrugged off the disappointment of missing out on a move back to Atletico Madrid by starring for Antonio Conte's Blues to earn his spot in Oulala's XI.
The combustible Spaniard edges out the likes of Manchester City's Sergio Aguero, Everton's Romelu Lukaku and Arsenal's Sanchez, though there is better news for Pep Guardiola's league leaders elsewhere.
Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling have both been in fine form to help City top the table, and take two of the three attacking midfield positions ahead of rivals such as Spurs' Son, Chelsea trio Oscar, Willian and Eden Hazard, Arsenal's rejuvenated winger Theo Walcott and West Ham talisman Dimitri Payet.
But the true star of the season has been Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho, who currently stands as the best player in the top flight based on 2016/17 statistics.
