The West Ham team were full of smiles during training on Thursday amid talk of the future of star forward Dimitri Payet.

Hammers coach Slaven Bilic confirmed this morning that the Frenchman has refused to play for the club as he seeks a transfer away from the east London side.

Bilic said that Payet's stance meant he will not be allowed to train with the first-team, making a potential appearance in West Ham's London derby match against Crystal Palace on Saturday unlikely.

As Hammers fans digested and, indeed, reacted to the news on Thursday, the West Ham squad continued their preparations for their upcoming Premier League match by training at Rush Green.

Captain Mark Noble was seen laughing and smiling during the session alongside striker Andy Carroll and manager Bilic, who spent some time talking to defender Winston Reid.

But not present was Payet, who West Ham have insisted they will not sell this month.
