Peter Taylor has expressed his interest in succeeding Hans Backe as manager at Notts County.
The Coca-Cola League Two club are looking for their third boss of the season following Backe's surprise resignation just seven weeks into a three-year contract.
Director of football Sven-Goran Eriksson and new owner Peter Trembling will begin the search for Backe's successor when Trembling returns from a family holiday in New York at the weekend.
Former England Under-21 boss Taylor was interested in the job at Meadow Lane before Backe replaced Ian McParland at the end of October.
The 56-year-old has thrown his hat into the ring once again, declaring he is ready to get back into management after a three-month break following his departure from Wycombe.
"I've not had any contact with Notts County but it's a job I would certainly be interested in - the same as last time," Taylor said.
"I understand there's been something in the papers again but it's just speculation. Who hasn't been linked with Notts?
"But it's an appealing job and it would be disrespectful for me to say I wasn't interested because Notts County is a very good football club.
"I've been out of work for a while now and I have to admit I want to get back into the game. But it's all right me saying I would be interested though, it's up to the club. If something happens I will deal with it then."
Taylor added: "I'm good friends with Sven. I first met him when he first came over to England. Sven knows Hans Backe very well and he chose him for the job last time but it might be a different situation now.
"However, Sven knows I know the level Notts are playing at very well and I also know a lot of players."
