Tottenham have made a new move for Espanyol goalkeeper Pau Lopez.

After failing with a £3million bid for the 21-year-old, Spurs have enquired about a loan move for the season, with an option to buy next summer.

Lopez came up through the youth ranks and is seen as one of Espanyol’s brightest talents.

It comes after first-choice goalkeeper Hugo Lloris was injured in Tottenham's opening game of the Premier League campaign.

The France No 1 limped out of Saturday's draw at Goodison Park and is expected to be sidelined for four weeks as he overcomes a hamstring problem.

Lloris will be unavailable until at least after the international break in the first weekend of September and will miss home games against Crystal Palace and Liverpool.

He is also unlikely to make Spurs’ trip to the bet365 Stadium to take on Stoke on September 10 but could return in time for a home game against Sunderland eight days later.
