Paul Gascoigne has responded to the Scottish Football Association following the decision to withdraw his nomination for their Hall of Fame.

Gascogine's invitation was withdrawn last week following reports a number of board members were to snub the event due to concerns over the former Rangers player's past.

The former England midfielder responded in typical fashion on Monday, first tweeting: "I played some of the best football in my career at Rangers and loved the support of the fans.

"I don't need to be in The Scottish Gall of Fame to be recognised as one of the best.

"I feel the love the support of the people and know I was the best. Love you all Gazza xxx."

The message came with a picture of the Rangers Hall of Fame board and the word "only one Hall of Fame matters". He was inducted by the club in 2006.

Gascoigne quickly followed up with a tweet directly at the Scottish FA with a video of his famous goal against Scotland at Euro 1996 and the words: "No hard feelings xxxx".

Fair to say, Gazza has made his feelings on the snub clear and follows on from Rangers legend Ally McCoist describing the decision as an "embarrassment".
