Paul Pogba injury: Manchester United star 'out for a few weeks' after latest ankle setback

Tom Doyle1 January 2020

Paul Pogba has suffered a fresh injury setback with the Manchester United star set to miss the opening weeks of 2020.

Pogba had hoped to return to action for United on New Year's Day at Arsenal, but the World Cup winner was not included in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's squad.

The France international missed three months of the season with various ankle and foot problems, but returned with cameo roles during the festive schedule against Watford and Newcastle United.

However, Solskjaer has now confirmed Pogba is back on the sidelines, telling MUTV: "[Pogba]'s injured. He's feeling some discomfort in his ankle.

"He'll be out for a few weeks."

The latest setback is a further blow for both Pogba and Solskjaer, with the United boss already without Scott McTominay for up to eight weeks after suffering knee ligament damage against Newcastle.
