Powell finds it tough to sign new players

Charlton boss Chris Powell today expressed his frustration at his club’s lack of business during the January transfer window.

Irish defender Kevin Feely, who signed from Irish side Bohemians, is the only new arrival so far and Powell admitted he is finding it difficult to add to his squad.

“It’s not easy,” he said. “You are going for players and sometimes they are not available and then you see them moving for a certain figure or you get down the road somewhere and maybe the figures are too high.

“It has been a bit disappointing as I do want to freshen up a little bit.

I feel we are due that in certain areas but I will keep plugging away and making those phone calls.”
