Premier League fixtures, dates and kick-off times for Project Restart confirmed

Tom Doyle5 June 2020

The Premier League has revealed the dates for the first three rounds of fixtures for Project Restart following a meeting between all 20 clubs.

As expected, the 2019/20 season will restart on Wednesday, June 17, 100 days after the season was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The campaign will kick off again with two evening games - Aston Villa vs Sheffield United and Manchester City vs Arsenal - to ensure that those four teams have at least played as many matches (29) as the rest of the top flight.

Following those two midweek games, a full round of fixtures will be played the following weekend - with Tottenham hosting Manchester United on the Friday night.

Liverpool are just two wins away from being confirmed as champions, and take on Everton in the Merseyside derby in their first match back.Today’s meeting comes after only one individual - later confirmed to be from Tottenham - out of 1,197 tested positive in the latest round of Premier League coronavirus tests .

With Champions League qualification still very much up for grabs, Tottenham know victory over fifth-placed Manchester United is essential - but Jose Mourinho's Spurs will face a tough test as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer welcomes back Paul Pogba.

The Met has announced that police will look at the final proposed fixture list before recommending whether any games in London should be moved to neutral venues.

None of the five matches which the UK's football policing lead said local forces had requested be switched to neutral venues last week were in the capital, despite the city's mayor Sadiq Khan expressing misgivings about staging games there during the coronavirus pandemic.
