Adrien Rabiot has revealed he is open to the idea of leaving Paris Saint-Germain – placing Premier League clubs on alert.
Tottenham have looked at Rabiot, a 21-year-old midfielder, in the past and may revive interest if they believe Rabiot might be available.
Rabiot is out of contract with the French champions in the summer of 2019. He said: "If there are offers from big clubs, that obviously demands that they are considered.
"Clubs like Real Madrid, they are great clubs but, truly, the most important thing is the present and I am concentrating on what I am doing right now, that is the best thing to do."
Rabiot has been capped by France at every level from Under-16 to the senior side and is seen as one of the most promising midfielders in Europe.
Both Spurs and Italian club Roma looked long and hard at him in the past when he seemed on the brink of leaving PSG, but Rabiot has stayed and is now an important part of manager Unai Emery’s squad.
Rabiot told Le Figaro newspaper: “The club has offered a contract extension but with all sincerity, I do not want to preoccupy myself with all of that. I am under contract here until 2019, so this is not urgent.
"We will have the time to revisit this at the end of the season. The club knows this. They are trying to protect themselves, to renew as many players' contracts as possible and I understand that.
"I know that they are counting on me significantly in the future and that I am part of a young group of players to form a new core for the future.
“It is important for them because I have a particularly strong identity [being a youth academy graduate]. However, I prefer to focus on the immediate future for now.”
