The Premier League will do "everything they possibly can" to ensure Liverpool are given a trophy presentation in the event of winning the title, the league’s CEO has declared.
Jurgen Klopp’s team were just two wins away from clinching their first championship in 30 years when football across Europe was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Initial scepticism over football’s viability prior to the discovery of a Covid-19 vaccine prompted some to insist that the season should be declared null and void.
However, that outcome has now been avoided, with the Premier League confirming on Thursday that games will get back under way behind closed doors next month thanks to a rigorous testing scheme introduced in recent weeks.
Consequently, the Reds can turn their attentions back to ending their lengthy title drought and the possibility of captain Jordan Henderson lifting the famous trophy aloft.
Asked whether that tradition will be upheld given the current circumstances, Richard Masters told Sky Sports: “Well they’ve got to complete the task first, as you know, and I think we’ll do everything we possibly can to deliver a trophy presentation.
“I think there’s a way of doing it, but safely and within the regulations.

“I think it’s really important to be able to mark that moment because of all the efforts that have gone into it.
“Not just for the players, the staff, the coaches, the managers, the team behind the scenes, but also obviously for the fans to be able to have that moment and a memory to mark it with.”
