English football’s powerbrokers were today holding talks that could produce the biggest shake-up of the domestic game in 30 years.

Premier League, FA and EFL bosses were meeting to examine proposals including ending FA Cup replays and revamping the Community Shield.

Premier League sides in European competition could also be limited to fielding junior sides in the Carabao Cup, in proposals put together by top-flight chiefs.

Attempts to reduce fixture congestion from 2024 represent the biggest potential changes.

The EFL clubs, meanwhile, want an extra £300million in funding from the Premier League as part of ongoing negotiations.

Premier League clubs are open to an overhaul of the Community Shield, with options to play the charity match overseas.

New Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly has previously floated the idea of a Premier League All Star fixture, which could replace the Community Shield.

Premier League clubs want FA Cup replays scrapped from the third round onwards. League Cup proposals could see Premier League teams in European action omitted from the competition.
