Can Kane hold onto top spot?
Tom Doyle11 May 2016

Jamie Vardy may have already collected a Premier League title winners' medal after a stunning season, but Tottenham star Harry Kane is looking to keep both the Leicester striker and Man City's Sergio Aguero at bay in the Golden Boot race.

Tottenham's Kane currently leads the top flight's goal charts with 25, but Vardy and Aguero are in hot pursuit with both just a goal behind on 24 for the season so far.

The latter duo will have one last chance to catch the 22-year-old Spurs forward on Sunday 15 May, with all 20 Premier League clubs kicking off at 3pm on the final day of the season.

Despite Vardy's recent two-game ban denting his Golden Boot hopes, the Foxes forward moved to within one goal of Kane following his brace against Everton last Saturday.

The 29-year-old could have gone level with Kane had he scored his second spot-kick of the afternoon, but skied the effort as Leicester won 3-1 before collecting the Premier League trophy.

While Vardy will be looking to cap his meteoric rise by finishing as the division's top scorer, Kane has most to fear from Aguero, according to statistics provided by fantasy football game Oulala.

Despite Manchester City's disappointing domestic form - with Sunday's 2-2 draw against Arsenal handing Manchester United the chance to pip City to Champions League qualification - Aguero has been in stunning form since Christmas.

The Argentine striker has hit 17 goals in 17 games - including eight in his last six - to close in on Kane and Vardy, and boasts a far better minutes-per-goal ratio than his rivals.

Aguero has scored a goal every 95 Premier League minutes this season compared to Vardy's 127, while Kane trails the pair at 131 minutes per goal.

In fairness to Kane, he has started every league game this term for Spurs - but can he hold onto top spot and prepare for England's Euro 2016 campaign on a high?

Kane 8/13
Aguero 2/1
Vardy 5/1
