Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is expected to leave his decision on whether to pick Gary Cahill as late as possible for Saturday's FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham.

Cahill has spent two days in hospital this week with a mystery virus and he will be monitored in training today.

Should he not risk the England international, Conte will have to pick between captain John Terry, Kurt Zouma and Nathan Ake to play in the back three.

Terry, who announced this week that he is leaving the club at the end of the season, has not played for the Blues since February.

The only time Terry and David Luiz have played together in a back three this season was in the 2-1 EFL Cup defeat against West Ham in October.

Luiz is hoping to add to Spurs’ miserable record at Wembley, where they have won just one of their last eight games in all competitions.

He said: “I hope they continue to struggle at Wembley. For us it is great going back to Wembley. It’s an amazing competition.”
