Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has given Kalidou Koulibaly’s possible move to Manchester United a thumbs down.
Koulibaly has emerged as United’s primary target to reinforce their backline.
The Premier League side failed with two bids for the Napoli centre-half ahead of this season’s January transfer window with the club expected to return with their interest in the summer.
United fans remain hopeful of the powerful defender landing at Old Trafford this summer.
During an open training session for Senegal’s African Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar on Friday, local fans unveiled a banner featuring Koulibaly decked out in United colours alongside a message urging him to join the club.
But instead of getting a response from the Napoli star, a smiling Mane walked over to the group to give it a thumbs down.
Should United get their wish and land Kouliably this summer, he could be lining up directly against compatriot Mane when the Premier League arch-rivals meet next season.
